U.S. Dept. of Veterans Affairs – Health Watch

Increasing Veteran Awareness and Enrollment through Media Outreach.

Veterans Health Watch is a monthly television program shown on cable networks across Maryland and parts of Delaware. The show, sponsored by the VA Maryland Health Care System (VAMHCS), provides information on health care benefits and services available to veterans and their family members. The primary objective of the program is to create an engaging outreach tool that informs Veterans in Maryland about these services, creating awareness and increasing Veteran enrollment.

In early 2012, when the show wanted to upgrade its production, the staff reached to TriVision for help. Since then, we have worked closely with VAMHCS to produce the monthly show — either in the TriVision Baltimore studio or on location. One recent episode was exclusively dedicated to female veterans; another was shot on-site at a hospital to record an interview with a new department director.

TriVision works closely with representatives of the VAMHCS during all facets of production.  We provide HD multi-camera studio services and on-site production at locations such as the Baltimore VA Medical Center. Additionally, TriVision provides all post-production and editing services.  Initially, we gave the program a makeover by implementing motion graphics and animation and creating an updated look and feel that reflected the high quality and importance of the content.

In 2014, we upgraded the show’s look and feel with the implementation of a custom set design, adding a much-needed contemporary refresh.

In addition to producing the monthly program, TriVision also produced 10 Public Service Announcements (PSAs) which run during the show.  Those PSAs were disseminated to several TV stations across Maryland, and serve as a valuable outreach, awareness, and education tool.  They cover subjects ranging from “How to Enroll” and “Volunteering” to “Pharmacy Services” and “Flu Vaccine Awareness.”

As seen in the video above, the Veterans Health Watch recently celebrated its 100th episode.

Based on the success of the program and confidence in TriVision’s work, the VA contracted with TriVision to produce the show through 2018. We are proud to take part in this initiative to build awareness and provide media outreach to US military veterans!
