With technology constantly changing and more options available for online learning, universities find it necessary to find innovative ways to keep up with students’ evolving learning lifestyles. The flexibility and easiness of online classes fit the busy schedules of most adults with families and full-time jobs. Not to mention, online classes makes learning more efficient, whereas students can use classroom time doing exercises with material they already absorbed online.
With new funding secured in May 2013, as part of the university’s initiative to create new approaches to interactive learning, Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business now offers its first online educational offering, the Master of Science in Finance (MSF). Georgetown will be using edX, a web platform offering Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs), an online course aimed at unlimited participation and open access via the web.
TriVision was a shoo-in for the task, given its previous experience working with Georgetown University, as well as other schools including George Mason University, George Washington University, and K12, Inc., the pioneer in online education.To reach this goal, Georgetown University partnered with Deltak, the provider of industry-leading innovations behind higher academic programs online. With plans to launch this online program in January 2014, Detlak approached TriVision for help.
TriVision is not only providing the on-location video production of the lectures, which began in early November and will continue for the rest of the semester, but also has to edit each online course by integrating text and motion graphics with lecture content. In addition, TriVision has to take care of details like applying consistent branding throughout each video with opening and closing segment bumpers.
The team at TriVision has been rigorously working to edit these video productions to meet the school’s tight deadlines for the kickoff of Spring Semester which was on January 8, 2014.
TriVision is excited to be part of this collective effort to bring online education courses to Georgetown University’s list of offerings and looks forward to continue its working relationship both with Deltak and Georgetown University.
